The developers of Microsoft Word need to be commended for adding in exponents. They saved everyone from the misery of writing out ‘3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3’ or ‘3^3’ which can be hard to understand for some. You’ve had the ability to add exponents to Microsoft Word even before 2003. Continue below and you’ll find the different ways to add exponents to Microsoft Word 2003.
Add Exponents with Microsoft Word Online
Microsoft provides a number of their office programs for online-use. For example, if you want to use Excel, but don’t have it on your computer or the money to purchase, you can still use an online version, or ‘Excel Online.’ As for Microsoft, it isn’t any different. With Microsoft Online, you can use many of the features that Microsoft provides on its retail office program. And yes, you can even use exponents on Microsoft Word Online.
There does exist a few drawbacks, however. In order to use any of the Microsoft office programs, you’ll need to have a Microsoft account, which is free to create.
The second drawback, if it wasn’t already obvious by its name, you can’t use Microsoft Word Online without a network connection.
The last drawback, one that isn’t necessarily a problem for many, but Microsoft Word Online is a stripped down version of its retail office program; it lacks many of its more advanced features. The reason it may not matter to most, at least in this context, is it still provides the superscript–the tool you’ll need for exponents–and subscripts, strangely enough.
